This vanity stool makeover was one of the easiest and quickest projects I’ve ever taken on. With DIY Paint and Made By Marley decoupage paper, I was able to knock it out in a few hours (plus dry timeI’ve never made friends with the person who previously owned the house that I purchased, but that happened with Vicki. They’ve been fantastic when it’s come to advice on the area, personality quirks of the home, and this hidden piece of furniture that she left in the bathroom. I use it daily.
The stool started as a plain Jane pine wood stool. Sturdy. Simple. Nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about. It did need some pizzazz; a little bit of love.
I used a paint brush, a silicone blade, DIY Paint, Made by Marley decoupage paper, DIY Crystal Clear Chandelier liquid patina and DIY Paint’s Big Top. You can see a full tutorial in the video below.

COLOR NOTE:
What a difference lighting can make. I photographed the stool both indoors and out. The peaches and pinks stand out more when I was outside. While I was outside there was scatter clouds and one shot was taken in direct sun and one was taken as a cloud came over. When I was indoors, one shot was taken in my bathroom with all of the lights on. One shot was taken in front of all of the studio lighting I own as well as all of the lighting in the living room where I had set up my equipment. The actual color of the stool is somewhere in between the bathroom picture and the outdoor picture. I’m not sure why the last one looks so orange.
